Today’s DOJ report and findings regarding the Minneapolis Police Department is an important document for every public safety agency to read and review. Agencies should take this opportunity to review their own practices and cultures.

Law enforcement organizational reviews conducted and developed by outside agencies and stakeholders provide valuable insight and perspective into making our communities safer, reducing crime, and building public trust.

Every agency is committed to making our communities safe places to live and visit. Today’s DOJ report is an important reminder that we all must do the vitally important work of proving public safety in ways that build trust with the people we are sworn to serve and protect.
