Executive Director

Jeff PottsJeff Potts was appointed as MCPA's Executive Director in 2021, following a 29-year career in law enforcement. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation.

The final 12 years of Jeff's policing career were spent as the police chief of the City of Bloomington, Minnesota. Jeff holds a master's degree in police administration from the University of St. Thomas and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Virginia. He is a past president of the MCPA and former legislative committee co-chair for the association.

Finance & Operations Director

Susan EngelSusan Engel oversees the day-to-day operations of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association, including developing and managing budgets and timelines for projects, initiatives, and trainings. She joined the MCPA in 2014 as the Finance Manager and, in 2017, transitioned to include operations. Susan started her finance career on Wall Street in the 1990s. In recent years, she has worked with smaller, more entrepreneurial organizations in both the private and non-profit sectors in the US and Canada.

Communications Director

Luke CardonaLuke Cardona manages the communication needs for MCPA, including member communications, website, social media, and press. He is an experienced marketing and communications professional, having worked with agencies, startups, non-profits, and local government. Luke has led communications for the cities of Fridley and Arden Hills, including messaging and branding for Fridley's public safety department. Originally from Albert Lea, he earned his bachelor's degree in journalism & mass communications from South Dakota State University.

Program & Administrative Coordinator

Acacia Huss-ZirzowAcacia Huss-Zirzow supports the work of both the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association and the Foundation, primarily focusing on developing the Foundation's programs and handling a wide range of administrative duties. Acacia started her career in the mortgage industry after graduating with her B.S. in business administration from Metropolitan State University. In recent years, she has worked with smaller, non-profit organizations with notable experience as a Loan and Grant Program Specialist and Development Coordinator.
